Dr. Hilda Ho
Associate, Registered Psychologist
Work Days: Mondays 9am-7pm
Dr. Hilda Ho is passionate about helping parents better understand their child’s behaviour as well as providing compassionate and timely assessments so that families can access appropriate interventions. She believes in empowering parents with knowledge and supporting parents so that they can advocate effectively for their children. Dr. Ho is fluent in English and in conversational Cantonese.
An experienced clinician and researcher in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Ho offers expertise based on over a decade of specialized clinical training in gold-standard assessment approaches and in evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Ho provides comprehensive autism assessments for children over 6 that not only satisfies the requirements based on the B.C. Diagnostic standards, but also provides additional information about the child’s developmental level and adaptive functioning, which is important for treatment planning. Diagnostic outcome is often provided on the same day as in-person testing. In exceptional cases (i.e., requirement for additional testing or information from other sources), feedback is completed as soon as possible in order to not delay access to intervention. The turn-around time for report writing is within 4 weeks, unless otherwise noted.
Dr. Ho also provides other psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments (e.g., assessing for ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual developmental disability and other neurodevelopmental disorders).
She also provides therapy services to children and youth (i.e., 8 years and up) who struggle with feelings of worry, stress, and/or low mood. Additionally, she provides brief consultations and parent-training for families of children diagnosed with autism.
In addition to her work at Cornerstone, Dr. Ho is currently a staff psychologist at Sunny Hill Health Centre at BC Children’s Hospital, where she provides autism assessments as part of the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN). She is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#2804).
