Dr. Hilda Ho is passionate about helping parents better understand their child’s behaviour as well as providing compassionate and timely assessments so that families can access appropriate interventions. She believes in empowering parents with knowledge and supporting parents so that they can advocate effectively for their children. Dr. Ho is fluent in English and in conversational Cantonese.

An experienced clinician and researcher in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Ho offers expertise based on over a decade of specialized clinical training in gold-standard assessment approaches and in evidence-based interventions. She specializes in autism assessments for children and youth. For children under 6, multiple specialists are required based on the B.C diagnostic standards to make an autism diagnosis and Dr. Ho is happy to complete the CDA portion and collaborate with your team. For children over 6, her comprehensive assessments meet the B.C. Diagnostic standards while also offering valuable insights into the child’s developmental level and adaptive functioning for optimal treatment planning. Diagnostic outcomes are often delivered on the same day, minimizing delays in accessing interventions. In exceptional cases requiring additional testing or information, prompt feedback is prioritized. Report writing is typically completed within 2 weeks, unless otherwise specified.

Beyond autism assessments, Dr. Ho provides psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments, addressing conditions such as ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual developmental disability, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.Dr. Ho also offers therapy services to children and youth (8 years and older) dealing with feelings of worry, stress, and low mood. Additionally, she provides brief consultations and parent training specifically tailored for families with children diagnosed with autism.In addition to her role at Cornerstone, Dr. Ho serves as a staff psychologist at Sunny Hill Health Centre at BC Children’s Hospital, where she is a qualified specialist with the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN). As part of her role, she completes complex, tertiary level diagnostic assessments for children and youth with medical challenges and suspected autism.
