What to Do with Worry: A CBT Group for School Aged Children

We are thrilled to now offer a virtual group for children ages 9-13 with anxiety! “What to Do with Worry: A CBT Group for School Aged Children” is an 8-week group that teaches cognitive-behavioural strategies to manage anxiety in a fun and engaging format. Children will attend 6 sessions that  focus on learning how anxiety works and developing strategies to fight back against anxiety and gradually face their fears. Parents will be debriefed on all information covered in the child sessions. Two sessions will include parents only and will focus on ways you can talk about anxiety in your family, respond to your child’s anxiety, and support your child as they learn to gradually face their fears.

This group will be led by two of Cornerstone’s Registered Psychologists: Dr. Penny Sneddon and Dr. Tara Jukes. The group will be held on Tuesdays starting April 23rd and ending on June 11th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. If you are on the waitlist for individual services, please note you will keep the same position even if you participate in the group.  However, some families may no longer require individual services following participation in the group.

COST: $1600 ($200 per session). Participation in all 8 group sessions is required.
