Workshop Content

  • Scientific information about sleep including: how much sleep children/teens need; causes, correlates and consequences of poor sleep; and how sleep works

  • An in-depth review of healthy sleep habits shown to significantly improve quantity and quality of sleep for children/adolescents

  • Specific strategies for common sleep concerns, including bedtime refusal, trouble falling asleep, waking in the night, and nightmares

  • A brief overview of specific sleep disorders that typically warrant further intervention

When

The Sleep Workshop is offered 2-3 times per year. Families may self-refer. The next workshop is on Wednesday May 15 @ 6pm - 7:30pm and registration is ongoing. To reserve a spot in the workshop, please complete an intake form and specify you are interested in the sleep workshop.

Fees

$195 per family, which includes up to 3 caregivers. This workshop is not appropriate for children, teens, or siblings. A receipt will be provided (in the child’s or parents’ names) and these costs may be covered by extended health plans.

Follow-up Individual Consultation

Families who attend the workshop have the option to book a 50-minute parent follow-up session for individualized support to plan and implement practical sleep solutions (within one month of the workshop). This option is especially recommended for families experiencing sleep challenges. Consults are billed at regular clinic rates for Registered Psychologists.
